The Blackberry Wordpress App looks very promising! Several people are putting a lot of effort into crafting the app into a user friendly WordPress tool. As you can see in this video you can perform a majority of the administrative functions associated with a WordPress administrative account.
This app looks worthy. I’ve just installed it and so far it’s very straight forward and simple to use. It’s perfect for multiple blogs. Althought the app is currently in beta, I recommend it everyone.
*Note: Wordpress self hosted users should make sure that “XML-RPC” writing is enabled. To do this, you need to 1) login 2) click “Settings” 3) Click on “Writing” in the settings menu, then finally select the checkbox next to “XML-RPC- XML-RPC Enable the WordPress, Movable Type, MetaWeblog and Blogger XML-RPC publishing protocols” if it is not already selected.
It’s hard to really commend RIM for this recent update; reduced lag across the board, threaded sms, and much more, as I was under the impression my blackberry device would operate this way around the same time a year ago.
However, it’s makes the device work much more smoothly – the new storm 2 should operate even better on this new OS. Some specific updates:
- Threaded SMS.
- When sending pics, you can resize individual photos to 1024×768, 800×600 or 640×480 is given.
- Flag emails for follow up. You can even change the properties of your flag, with the ability to define colors and the priority.
- Calendar can now accept conference call information, allowing you to dial straight in.
- RIM has updated the Maps application to render around two times as fast as they did in the past. In addition to this, scrolling around and zooming in should no longer result in lagging.
Just use the desktop application to download the new update.
Finally, RIM decides to update their native instant message application. You can even send and receive pictures with the newest update to the app. Features listed below:
- Enhanced SMS -Allows for a conversational chat-like user experience with a single contact list for the most personal mobile-to-mobile communications
- Avatars -Users can choose a picture from the BlackBerry Smartphone gallery and save it as their personal avatar, which will be seen by their contacts. They can also view other avatars in the contact list and zoom in on the avatars of contacts participating in a conversation by selecting “View participants.”
- Large Media File Transfer -Users can send/receive large file transfers up to 6 megabytes for pictures, files and audio.
- Enhanced Group Functionality -Allows for the ability to update, share & communicate with a subset community.
- Bar-code Identity -A user can add a contact to the BlackBerry Messenger contact list by displaying a 2-dimensional bar code that invitees can capture with their device cameras.
- Reliable Contact Backup and Restore -Contacts are backed-up on a server and do not require the need for BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.
